Easy Cherry Dump Cake: A Sweet Treat for Busy Weeknights

My status right now: Craving for a cherry dump cake. Don’t be fooled by the name, this cake is a straight-up match made in heaven with my black coffee! Perfect for when I’m craving for a treat I truly deserve.

We have to admit mamas, we crave desserts the most when we’re at our busiest. In my case, while store-bought treats temporarily save the day, I always crave for something home-made.

What I did was compile dessert recipes that’s quick and easy, I can prep them on a weeknight without taking a lot of time! The Cherry Dump Cake recipe is one of these sweet treats that my family and I enjoy. It’s also a timely Valentine treat, with its luscious rich color and sweetly tart taste!

Ingredients:

  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) yellow or white cake mix
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons carob fruit syrup or agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
  • Optional toppings: whipped cream or vanilla ice cream

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Spread the cherry pie filling evenly in the prepared baking dish.

Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly over the cherry pie filling.

Drizzle the melted butter over the cake mix.

Combine brown sugar and carob syrup or agave syrup in a bowl and sprinkle over the top of the cake mix.

Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the cake is golden brown and bubbly.

Let the dump cake cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, topped with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream if desired.
