Description

This cinnamon tequila hot chocolate is sure to warm you up from head to toe. Enjoy it on chilly nights, at holiday parties, or anytime you want a grown-up twist on a classic.


Ingredients

6 ounces dark chocolate squares

4 cups whole milk

3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

5 tablespoons sugar

2 cinnamon sticks

2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract

3 tablespoons tequila

Ground cinnamon, for serving


Instructions

  1. Add chocolate and a cup of milk to a medium saucepan and place over low heat. Stir gently, allowing the chocolate to melt.
  2. Add cocoa powder and whisk well to combine.
  3. Add sugar, cinnamon sticks, and the remaining milk. Allow the mixture to simmer over medium-low heat until very hot and lightly thickened, approximately 8 to 10 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and tequila.
  5. Serve with a dusting of ground cinnamon. Enjoy!
